Feeling Lost?
Do you ever look around and wonder why this world doesn’t make sense to you? Why does everyone seem to find a place, purpose, and role while you feel like you’re wandering on the outside, somehow different? Maybe you’ve told yourself, “I’m just not made for this world. It wasn’t built for people like me.”
If so, you’re not alone. Many of us feel this way at some point. The sensation of being lost, disconnected, or out of place can feel overwhelming. But what if this sense of not fitting in is actually a sign? What if you weren’t made to fit into this world—but to change it?
It’s easy to think of being “different” as something negative, but consider this: every major shift in human history has come from someone who didn’t see the world as others did. Visionaries, artists, inventors, leaders—they weren’t made to blend in. They were made to stand out, challenge the norm, and see potential in places others couldn’t.
When you feel out of place, maybe it’s because you’re meant to bring something new to the world, a perspective or strength that’s needed to move it forward. Just imagine if every person who didn’t fit neatly into society’s boxes gave up on their dreams. Imagine the world without the vision of people like Nikola Tesla, Marie Curie, or Martin Luther King Jr. Their differences, and the courage to stand by them, became their power.
You may not yet know exactly what your purpose is, and that’s okay. Your path might be unfolding in ways that don’t make sense yet, but trust that the feeling of being “different” is a powerful sign. It means you have a role only you can play. You were made to look beyond what already exists, to ask new questions, and maybe to create answers others haven’t considered.
Instead of trying to fit into what others expect or settling for what society says you should be, start by asking yourself: What feels true to me? Embrace the values, ideas, and even quirks that make you who you are. They’re clues to your unique purpose and potential.
Find small ways to act on what matters to you. This might look like sharing your thoughts, creating something meaningful, or even just showing kindness in a world that can feel disconnected. Bit by bit, you’ll build confidence in the gifts only you can bring.
So, the next time you feel lost, remember this: You weren’t made to fit into this world. You were made to help shape it. The world needs people like you—people who see things differently, who question the way things are, and who carry a vision for what could be. Embrace that calling.
This world needs you!
